Former Prime Minister Fatos Nano has appeared in public for the first time after health problems.

Doctor Pajtim Lutaj has published two photos with the former socialist leader, where he writes:

"With Fatos Nano, my precious friend, the social democrat of modern Europe, the historical leader of the Albanian socialists. A nice lunch after health problems, impressive recovery. Long live Fatos for the good of Albanians and democracy in Albania and Kosovo", writes doctor Lutaj on Facebook.

We recall that in August of last year, the former prime minister was hospitalized due to some complications with his lungs.

Nano fought for many weeks for his life and today he is in good health.

A bit of history

Fatos Nano began his political career in 1991 after being elected Secretary of the Council of Ministers and then Prime Minister in the Transitional Government, which was established to prepare the country for the transition to a market economy and democratic system. That same year he was elected chairman of the Socialist Party.

Fatos Nano was elected as prime minister after the victory of the SP in the early elections of 1997, but in September 1998 he resigned after the assassination of the former founder of the DP, Azem Hajdari.

Nano became Prime Minister again in July 2002. On July 3, 2005, the Socialist Party lost the elections and the majority in Parliament. On September 1, 2005, Fatos Nano resigned as chairman of the Socialist Party, finally leaving active politics./ CNA
