Farmers of Devolli, in protest/ The price of collection of products is reduced

Farmers and livestock breeders in the Devolli area have protested against the price reduction of agricultural and livestock products by collectors.

They have gathered at the entrance of the city of Bilishti, where they have also brought their agricultural tools.

A concern for livestock farmers remains the low and far from cost price at which dairies buy their milk. Compared to last year, the price has decreased by 30%, which has put livestock farmers in difficulties.

Lack of subsidies and high costs to maintain livestock farms are forcing them to reduce the number of livestock. Competition from imported products is leading livestock farmers to abandon their farms.

Farmers are also facing the same problem, for whom most of the produced wheat is left in stock.

Farmers have addressed several requests to the government, related to the equalization of VAT for agricultural products, reimbursement for each liter of milk, as well as the removal of oil tax for agricultural tools.
