The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Cyber ??Security and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) are releasing this joint Cyber ??Security Advisory to provide information on recent cyber operations against the Government of Albania in July and September. This advisory provides a timeline of observed activity, from initial access to execution of encryption and sweeper attacks. Additional information regarding the files used by the actors during the exploit and cyberattack against the victim organization is provided in Appendices A and B.

Në korrik 2022, aktorët kibernetikë shtetërorë iranianë – të identifikuar si “Drejtësia e Atdheut” – nisën një sulm kibernetik shkatërrues kundër Qeverisë së Shqipërisë, i cili i bëri faqet e internetit dhe shërbimet të padisponueshme. Një hetim i FBI-së tregon se aktorët kibernetikë shtetërorë iranianë morën akses fillestar në rrjetin e viktimës afërsisht 14 muaj përpara se të fillonin sulmin shkatërrues kibernetik, i cili përfshinte një kodues skedarësh të stilit ransomëare dhe një malëare që fshinte disqet. Aktorët mbajtën akses të vazhdueshëm në rrjet për afërsisht një vit, duke aksesuar dhe shfrytëzuar periodikisht përmbajtjen e postës elektronike.

Between May and June 2022, Iranian state cyber actors conducted lateral movement, network discovery, and credentialing of Albanian government networks. In July 2022, actors launched ransomware on networks, leaving an anti-Mujahid E-Khalq (MEK) message on desktops. When defenders of the network identified and began to respond to the ransomware activity, cyber actors deployed a destructive version of ZeroCleare. /CNA.al
