DP MP, Ina Zhupa in a statement to the media has accused that the government is giving the decision-making right for Butrint to Richard Hodges, a member of the board of the foundation for Butrint, who has an anti-Albanian attitude in his publications.

Zhupa emphasizes that the state cannot hand over its property to an individual who declares that Butrint is Greek and Saranda is Greek land.

The DP MP underlines that Richard Hodges with his statements undermines our history and cannot be a decision-maker in the management board of the foundation for Butrint.

" All these questions are directly related to the members of the board of the Butrint Foundation that will decide how this property of ours will be used in the next 10 years.

Because part of this Board is also Richard Hodges, whose participation on the board, referring to his public positions, presents implications at the constitutional level of endangering the violation of our national identity and heritage.

These are directly related to one of the reasons why we are in the Constitutional Court.

Because, private individuals own the majority of representation on the Board, before the state to have control over Butrint.

Butrint is an ancient city that has not been fully discovered. Research and interpretation of the findings there are directly related to the identity, heritage and history of our country.

Richard Hodges is an English researcher who has the thesis that he shows in his public lectures and in his books that Butrint is Greek, that Saranda is Greek and the south of the country was unjustly given to Albania, as a political decision in 1913.

Referring to his approach, how can the Albanian state hand over its wealth, part of the world's wealth, to this person???!!!!

Violation of the constitution occurs because his statements and positions contradict Article 3 of the Constitution and also contradict the data and the official position of the Albanian state so far, which refute his anti-Albanian positions.

With his statements, he undermines our history, our identity, and in this way he can never be a decision-maker in the Management Board of the Foundation for the administration of Butrint.

Hodges, but also others who may elect these same private individuals tomorrow, with the powers they have on the board of directors of the foundation, try to interpret every finding according to their school or inclinations, which clearly do not coincide with reality, they seem to they are anti-Albanian, who distort reality, who abuse power and want to rewrite the history of Albanians", said Zhupa./ CNA
