"We love Albania like all of Europe"/ Begaj: That December would be

President Bajram Begaj commemorated December 8, which marks the fall of communism.

Through a post on social networks, Begaj writes that December 8, 32 years ago, of the students of Tirana, would finally separate two eras in the history of the Albanian state.

"That December would be the last December of communist rule, to remain in history as the first December of freedom in political pluralism, to remain forever as the December that ignited hope for democracy.

Ndaj, një popull që kishte përballuar aq e aq shumë sakrifica dhe pamundësi, mbushi sheshet e Tiranës dhe të gjithë Shqipërisë, përmes thirrjes studentore: “E duam Shqipërinë si gjithë Europa!””, shkruan Begaj.

Sipas tij, largpamësia dhe mençuria vizionare e studentëve shqiptarë të atij brezi, bëri bashkë menjëherë punëtorët dhe intelektualët, pedagogët dhe shkencëtarët, bëri me vete gjithë popullin shqiptar, i cili pa asnjë mëdyshje, por me bindje dhe vullnet patriotik përcaktoi edhe rrugën e të ardhmes së tij.

“Është pikërisht kjo arsyeja se pse 8 dhjetorin e nderojmë dhe e festojmë si Ditën Kombëtare të Rinisë, duke shprehur në këtë mënyrë sa mirënjohjen ndaj studentëve dhe të rinjve të asaj kohe, edhe përgjegjësinë dhe detyrimin ndaj rinisë shqiptare në çdo kohë.

Mesazhi i kësaj dite është amanet, është mision, është detyrim dhe përgjegjësi.

The ideals of the students of December 1990 should always inspire us to work responsibly, with seriousness and dedication, in order to continue without stopping our path of Euro-Atlantic integration.
