Global Election Day/ Celibashi-De Sanctis joint message

Today, we celebrate Global Election Day, when every year many countries appreciate the contribution of citizens to democratic processes. 

Every February, the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the OSCE Presence in Albania, as long-term partners, are pleased to honor the meaning of this day, emphasizing the importance of elections and citizen participation, as two of the main pillars of democracy .

On May 14, 2023, Albanians will elect mayors and members of municipal councils, who will lead the local governments for the next four years.

Votimi është sa e drejtë po aq dhe detyrë qytetare për të gjithë, si edhe një proces shumë i rëndësishëm për demokracinë në vend.

Prandaj, për të siguruar pjesëmarrjen në këto zgjedhje, hapi i parë është të kontrolloni emrin tuaj në listat paraprake të zgjedhësve të shpallura pranë zyrave vendore të Gjendjes Civile, të cilat i gjeni edhe në internet nëpërmjet aplikacionit të KQZ-së, faqes së KQZ-së dhe portalit e-Albania.

Sot, të gjithë ne duhet t’u kushtojmë vëmendje të posaçme të rinjve, veçanërisht atyre që do të votojnë për herë të parë më 14 maj.

Vota dhe vendimmarrja e tyre gjatë zgjedhjeve është tejet e rëndësishme!

Young people are a vital part of all democratic processes and especially elections, so we strongly encourage them to turn out on election day to vote, as the best means to have their say and play the essential role they have in building of the future of Albania.

The CEC and the OSCE Presence will continue to strongly support the growth of young people's participation in elections, as well as their engagement in transparent and inclusive democratic processes. /CNA.al
