Muslim believers celebrate "Kurban Bayram"/ Message from the head of

This morning, thousands of believers prayed on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard on the day of Eid al-Adha.

The head of the Albanian Council of Ministers, Bujar Spahiu, gave his message at the start of the pardon.

"This sacrifice teaches us today: that faith is not just words, but deeds; it is not just a ritual, but a sincere commitment to being more just, more honest and more merciful at every step of life," said the head of the KMSH, Bujar Spahiu.

Dear believers, brothers and sisters in religion and nation, wherever you are, in every corner of our country,

By the mercy of the All-Merciful Allah, today we celebrate the great holiday of Eid al-Adha - a day that unites our hearts in worship, gratitude, and solidarity.

As is rare, today the most beautiful day of the week, Friday, joins the most beautiful day of the year, Eid al-Fitr - double joy.

Eid al-Adha, this blessed day, reminds us of the sublime sacrifice of the prophet Ibrahim (as), who bowed with complete faith to the command of God.

Allah says in the Quran: “When his Lord said to him: ‘Submit!’ He said: ‘I have submitted myself to the Lord of the Worlds.’” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:131)

And it is precisely this sacrifice that teaches us today: that faith is not just words, but deeds; it is not just ritual, but a sincere commitment to being more just, more honest, and more merciful at every step of life.

Our religion teaches us that faith is not complete without social sensitivity.

Our worship is not pure if it does not include responsibility towards others.

And our society will never be just if its foundations do not rest on divine values: mercy, justice, generosity, and honesty.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

"None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." (Bukhari & Muslim)

Dear believers,

Today, Eid al-Adha is an invitation to everyone, without distinction:

* For the worker and the farmer who

* their families bear the brunt of their labor;

* For mothers and grandmothers who raise generations with patience and faith;

* For young people seeking their place in society;

* For teachers who instill knowledge and values;

* For doctors who serve life;

* For entrepreneurs who work and provide employment opportunities;

* For intellectuals and leaders who influence the thought and development of society.

Everyone has a place in this call of Eid.

For the simple, Eid is a reminder that God is close to the pure in heart. “Allah is with the doers of good (muhsinun).” (Surah Ankabut, 29:69)

For the wealthy, it is a reminder that wealth is a trust and must be shared. In everyone's wealth there is a share for the poor and the orphan... "And in their wealth there was a portion for the beggar and the needy." (Surah Adh-Dhariyat, 51:19)

For leaders, it is a call for justice, transparency, and commitment to the common good. “Allah commands you to render back trusts to those to whom they are due, and when you judge between people, to judge with justice…” (Surah An-Nisa, 4:58)

For young people, it is a guide that successes without value are empty, while devotion to God gives meaning to every effort.

Dear brothers and sisters,

At a time when economic, social, and spiritual challenges affect many families, Eid comes as a beacon of hope.

Let us not see it simply as a day of rest and consumption, but as a day of worship at the same time – as it truly is – as an opportunity to rebuild our connections with God and with each other.

Let's share the table, but also the smile.

Let's go to the lonely, to the elderly, to those who don't have the opportunity to celebrate.

Because that is how we are Muslims in heart, not just in name. “Have mercy on those on earth so that He who is in heaven may have mercy on you.” (Hadith – Tirmidhi)

On behalf of the Muslim Community of Albania, I invite all Albanians, from every background and every belief, to celebrate this holiday with love and responsibility.

Let us see each other with human eyes, help, forgive, and cooperate for a more just, prosperous, and united society.

Let us pray to God together for Gaza. For the lives cut short and the difficult situation they are going through. We also pray for peace throughout the world.

We pray to Allah to accept your worship, sacrifices and prayers!

May it fill your homes with peace, your tables with blessings, and your lives with prosperity!

We pray to God that pilgrims from all over the world and hundreds of pilgrims from Albania, who are currently in the holy places in Mecca, accept their prayers and worship!

“And proclaim to the people the Hajj; they will come to you on foot and on weakened camels, from every distant road.” (Surah Al-Hajj, 22:27)

Happy Eid al-Adha! May your Eid be blessed, and may God bless Albania! / CNA
