Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has congratulated the Bektash believers on the Sultan Novruz holiday.

He stated that Bektashism and patriotism in Albania were one and inseparable. 

"Dear resistance fighters, missionaries of the just cause, of freedom and human dignity, invincible braves determined for a battle without return until the overthrow of the dictatorship based on the alliance of power with crime, the theft of Albanian citizens and drugs.

Greeting you cordially, greeting the wonderful orators of this excellent parliament of free speech, on behalf of you and the DP, I convey today the most heartfelt congratulations on this holy day, to the Albanian Bektash believers.

I wish them on this blessed day, not only for the Bektashis, but for all God's believers.

My friends, Bektashism and patriotism in Albania have been one and inseparable.

The tekke of the Albanian Bektashi were the nests of the first learners of the Albanian language, together with churches and other institutions.

The houses of the Albanian Bektashians were the shelter of freedom and patriotism fighters.

The Frashërli, immortal Bektashians and revivalists, drafted the doctrine of Albanianism as the western doctrine of the nation.

The Albanian Bektashis had the good fortune to lead Bektashism in the world.
