The mayor of Rrogozhina is also under investigation for money laundering

The socialist mayor of Rrogozhina, Edison Memolla, is also under investigation for money laundering by the Special Prosecutor's Office.

Investigations are focusing on compensation for damaged homes, compensating bystanders and citizens. 

We recall that Memolla was taken as a defendant by SPAK in November 2023. The socialist mayor was accused of the criminal offense "Active corruption in elections" committed in collaboration.

From SPAK's investigations, it has been established and proven that the defendant Memolla, in the partial local elections of March 6, 2022, influenced the electrician Blerim Xhamani not to cut off the electricity of a debtor subscriber, in order to vote in his favor. as well as communicated with him about employment in the Rrogozhin Municipality, in exchange for a vote.

In addition, the citizens Ndriçim Tafxhafa, Blerim Xhamani and Isuf Tosku were taken as defendants./ CNA
