The Special Prosecution Office has completed the investigations and sent Democratic Party MP Qani Xhafa, who had an accident while drunk two years ago, to trial.
Xhani is accused of committing the criminal offense of "Irregular Driving", provided for by Article 291 of the Criminal Code.
Qani Xhafa has held the position of Deputy in the Parliament of Albania since May 19, 2023.
From the entirety of the investigative actions, it has resulted that on March 11, 2023, the defendant Qani Xhafa, currently a Member of Parliament in the Albanian Parliament, while driving a Toyota vehicle with license plates AB 457 IJ while intoxicated, on "Qemal Stafa" Boulevard, Elbasan, lost control and went off the road, colliding with a street lighting pole.
