In the 2022 progress report, the Albanian Government ignored fiscal amnesty and golden passports

Even today, the EU ambassador, Christiane Hohmann, touched on these two issues, during the press conference with the deputy prime minister, Belinda Balluku.

“BE respekton sovranitetin e cilitdo shtet për të vendosur se çfarë skemash do të ketë për dhënien e nënshtetësisë. Por kjo lloj skeme do të vinte në pah disa risqe që janë shprehur qartë në rajon. KE sugjeroi që shtetet t’i jepnin fund dhënies së nënshtetësisë në këtë lloj forme. Secili shtet duhet të vendosë vetë se si do të vazhdojë me këtë çështje. Për sa i përket amnistisë fiskale, ne po vijojmë bisedimet”, ka thënë Hofman.

Por, sipas Ballukut, sa i përket amnistisë fiskale, vlerësimi në raport është hipotetik.

“Pra mund të vërë në rrezik progresin në luftën kundër pastrimit të parave dhe është e paevitueshme që ky vlerësim të jetë hipotetik duke qenë që sot e kësaj dite mbetet akoma një draft që e kemi të hapur për diskutim, me partnerët tanë. Ne e garantojmë ambasadoren dhe Komisionin që ky do të jetë një progrss që do të vijojë disktumiet dhe nuk do të qëndrojmë pa marrë parasysh qëndrimet e Komisioni”, ka thënë Balluku.

Edhe për të ashtuqujaturat “pasaporta të arta”, Balluku ka sqaruar se i janë vendeve të tjera të BE, të cilat sot e kësaj dite i kanë këto programe nën proces.

"For golden passports, we have referred to the practices of other EU countries, which to this day have these programs under process, continue and apply them. We have referred to them for what they bring to the country and the benefits they have received based on the best experiences of these European countries", said Balluku.

In the end, Balluku has guaranteed that criticisms and concerns will be read carefully.

"We guarantee you as the Albanian government that the report will be read carefully and the institutions involved will address the concerns or challenges that you have presented in this report. Where the journey is difficult, but not impossible for Albanians", said Balluku./CNA.al
