To put your life in danger, to save another life. This is the case of 28-year-old Robert Neçaj, who saved 2 minors from drowning in Rana e Hedhur, but himself suffered major injuries.

"The sister was rescuing her brother who had seizures of epilepsy. The girl hits me on the head with the rescue device that I gave her to hold. At this moment, I drank large amounts of water and had the minimum of strength. I was praying that we would touch the ground. "I lost consciousness near the shore," he said.

The two minors, fearing that they had inadvertently caused a tragedy, left Robert unconscious in the water.

"I have had no contact with the children or their families. I entered knowing that I was in danger, but I did not think that the situation would go so badly. I don't blame them, they are minors, they were scared", he continued.

It was the uncle's son, the one who went out to look for Robert, after noticing his absence.

Robert's father knew that something had happened to his son.

"When the phone rang, I didn't pick it up, at that moment you hear the ambulance and the father says that this ambulance has left for my son", he says tearfully.

Robert needs time to recover. The summer season has ended for him, not the way he would have liked, but he says he is happy that today two parents enjoy their children./Euronews
