AKU blocks 20 kg of expired food products

The National Food Authority has blocked 20 kilograms of food products whose use-by date had passed.

Administrative measures were also imposed on these subjects.  

"The National Food Authority, referring to a denunciation, reacted immediately through the structures of the Tirana Regional Directorate, conducting an inspection in the subject "N", with the activity "Trading of food products".

From the control exercised in the premises of this subject, it was found that the activity was carried out in suitable hygienic and sanitary conditions and the food products were stored according to their nature in refrigerated conditions and shelves.

From the verification of food products, 20 kg of food products with expired use-by dates, sausages, cookies, cornflakes, cakes, pastries, frozen fruits, butter, yogurt and 8 liters of milk products, olive oil and mayonnaise of different brands were found. .

Also, the subject did not have an efficient traceability system for food products and does not implement the HACCP self-control plan.

 The inspection team immediately blocked this quantity subject to mandatory disposal according to the legislation in force, and administrative measures were taken with a fine of 500,000 ALL.
