In a joint press conference of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, and the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, the agreement was signed to strengthen cooperation in the field of migration.
During her speech, Meloni showed details of the agreement. The agreement states that a hospitality center for emigrants will be created in the port of Shengjin and a temporary residence center in the territory inside the port.
Also, the centers under the management of the Italian government will continue their work with the cooperation of the Albanian police forces.
Meloni said that the 2 centers will be operational in the spring of 2024.
