2% fewer students in Shkodër

2% fewer students are sitting in school benches in Shkodër for the new school year 2024-2025, compared to the previous school year.

Such a thing was announced by the director of ZVAP Shkodër, Brisela Kadija. She said that over 1,200 students were enrolled in the first grade, while over 1,100 were enrolled in the 10th grade.

Kadija guaranteed that no school is in danger of being closed in the new school year in Shkodër. However, in remote administrative units there is a risk of not having students in the first grade.

"These are subordinate schools that generally had a number of students of 19, 9, 8 from year to year, that taught in concentrated classes. And due to the increase in the quality of education, the inclusiveness of these students, and at the request of the parents, these schools will be concentrated.

We have schools in very remote administrative units that risk not having students in the first grade. This may be due to the difficult terrain, but also due to demographic changes in the area. There are institutions, we risk not having students in the first grade, while we have students who attend the second, third grades and so on," she said.
