This Monday, the competition for the new head of the State Police, for the leaders of 12 districts and key police structures, was opened.

The Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, has stated that women will also be placed in leadership positions in the police.

He stated that the selection of new directors will be made on the basis of their professional profile and work merit.

"Nothing will affect their selection process, except merit and integrity", he said during a meeting.

Also, Hoxha invited all Police leaders to run for Director General.

"I wish that this is how the new General Director and the new leaders of the districts and key structures of the State Police see career promotion, at this historical time of Albania negotiating membership in the European Union.

They will be elected in the coming weeks with the same spirit and credentials, the same of their professional profile and merit in the work. Nothing will affect their selection process except merit and integrity.

The newly approved new Law of the State Police, the main credit for the very good content of which goes to my honorable predecessor Taulant Balla and the current leaders of the State Police, is an excellent platform for the further reformation and modernization of our police force.

On the basis of this law, I have issued the Instruction for the start of the procedures for the selection of the Director General of the State Police, and in accordance with it, the Deputy Director General, Sokol Bizhga, will be assigned to the temporary position of the senior head of the Police. .

I invite all the leaders of the Police, who are according to the ranks provided by the law, to run for Director General. If they have this ambition, don't hesitate. The process is open and the choice will be unaffected by anything else, except for the individual values ??of each candidate", the minister emphasized./ CNA
