Journalist Sami Neza has stated that US government funds distributed in Albania are controlled by George Soros and his organization.

Invited to Sonia Meço's show, Neza stated that in Albania there are no civil society organizations that can survive outside of Soros's influence.

He emphasized the fact that civil society has not performed any of its functions since coming to power. 

 "There is money that has passed from the American government to George Soros and he has used it to implement, or inject, his own policies which, in the Albanian case at least, have shown that they are neither for the development of democracy, nor for development, nor do they help free speech, free trade, nor the market economy."

Those funds in Albania have brought about a monopolization of the civil society space, which is very important. If you monopolize the civil society space, it means that you have dominated one of the most important elements of democracy and are using it for your own purposes.

Since coming to power, civil society has no voice, no image, and does not even perform its functions.

For 15 years, I have managed to identify the monopolization of funds and civil society in general in the hands of Soros or umbrella organizations linked to Soros.

It was impossible and if you look at the civil society 'market' today, you will see that the actors coming from outside Soros during this 30-odd year period that he has operated in Albania are very few, they can be counted on the fingers of one hand. It's not that there weren't people enthusiastic about getting involved in civil society, but they couldn't take a single step without going through the umbrella.

"In Albania, you don't have civil society organizations that can survive outside of Soros's influence, it's impossible."
