The White House has begun talks with billionaire Elon Musk to enable SpaceX's satellite service to be offered in Iran, CNN reported Friday.

The channel cited US officials with knowledge of the talks who say the White House is looking at the Internet service, called Starlink, as a possible way to allow Iranians to access the Internet and circumvent government restrictions.

It is not known whether the Starlink service is seeking US government funding to enable activity in Iran.
