"Apple" may add advertisements to applications that come pre-installed on the iPhone and other devices of this company.

According to a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple has been testing search ads in Maps, which can show recommendations when you search for nearby restaurants, shops or other businesses.

Apple already implements a similar advertising model in the App Store, as there are people who can pay to have their app promoted on a search page, such as "puzzle games" or "photo editing."

As noted by Gurman, ads on Maps can work the same way, with businesses paying to appear at the top of search results when users use certain search terms.

Gurman believes that "Apple" can also introduce advertisements in its "Podcasts" and "Books" applications.

This could potentially allow publishers to place ads within each app or pay to place their content in search results. Like Maps, Podcasts and Books are currently ad-free.

And while the "App Store" already has ads in the "Search" tab, Gurman expects "Apple" to expand ads in the "Today" tab and application download pages./ BA – CNA.al
