Facebook and Instagram Ban Andrew Tate

Meta has kicked out influencer Andrew Tate from Facebook and Instagram for violating its policies.

The former kickboxer shot to fame in 2016 when he was booted from TV show Big Brother over a video of him assaulting a woman.

He went on to gain internet fame, but Twitter banned him, saying he must be held accountable for the violence he inflicted on the woman.

He had 4.7 million followers on Instagram at the time his account was taken down.

That number had grown rapidly from around one million followers in June.

Meta said it had removed the kickboxing star from its platforms for violating its policies on dangerous organizations and individuals, but did not provide further details.

At the time of his Big Brother exit, Tate said the video had been edited, calling it a total lie trying to make him look bad.

He has not yet commented on Meta's ban./ CNA.al
