Twitter restores the accounts of politicians in Serbia

The Twitter company stated that it has mistakenly suspended the accounts of some politicians in Serbia.

"In this case, we mistakenly took action to suspend a number of accounts and they have now been reinstated. Our top priority is to protect healthy discussions on Twitter ," the company said in a written response to Radio Free Europe.

On August 18, the Twitter company suspended the accounts of several deputies and politicians of the Serbian Progressive Party, which is in power in Serbia, and of a government official.

Twitter said it continues to enforce security policies for accounts on the social network.

Në mesin e personave që u ishte pezulluar llogaria në rrjetin social Twitter është edhe Arno Gujon, drejtor i Drejtorisë për bashkëpunim me diasporën dhe serbët në rajon, i cili është emëruar në këtë pozitë më 2020 nga Qeveria e Serbisë.

“Twitter sapo pezulloi llogarinë time ku kisha 34.000 ndjekës, pa dhënë asnjë shpjegim”, tha Gujon përmes një postimi në Facebook.

Edhe pse Gujon është i njohur për publikun në Serbi si një humanist që ndihmon serbët në Kosovë, aktiviteti i tij politik është i lidhur me lëvizjen identitare të ekstremit të djathtë.

Twitter pezulloi më 18 gusht, llogaritë e 12 anëtarëve të Partisë Përparimtare Serbe (SNS), të presidentit aktual, Aleksandar Vuçiq.

Në mesin e llogarive të pezulluara ishte edhe llogaria e organizatës joqeveritare CRTA që monitoron punën e Kuvendit. Në mesin e personave që u ishin pezulluar llogaritë në Twitter janë: Nevena Gjuriç, Sandra Bozhiç, Milica Nikoliç, Jelena Obradoviç, Aleksandar Markoviç, Kërsta Janjusheviç, Dushan Radojeviç, Jelena Zhariç-Kovaçeviç, Aleksandra Tomiç, Stasha Stojanoviç, Zoran Tomiç dhe Andrijana Vasiç.

Kompania Twitter po ashtu pezulloi llogaritë e disa anëtarëve të lartë të SNS-së, përfshirë edhe kryetarit të qytetit të Beogradit, Miroslav Çuçkoviç, si dhe Slavisha Miçanoviçit, që sipas mediave udhëheq ekipin për media të SNS-së.

Siç thuhet në faqen zyrtare, Twitter ka të drejtë të pezullojë llogari nëse këto llogari shkelin rregullat e kompanisë.

"Most of the accounts we suspend are suspended because they are fake or pose a security risk to Twitter or those who use Twitter ," the company's website says.

Twitter's website also states that accounts may be suspended if they are suspected of being hacked. The suspension in such cases lasts until the account is returned to the owner.

The company may also suspend accounts if they are in violation of company policies.
