Today's friendly, Albania challenges Luxembourg

The Albanian national team will descend on the "Air Albania" stadium this Saturday evening to play the second and final friendly match of this group. The Rossoneri will face Luxembourg, as the last test before official commitments.

The red and black team led by Rolando Maran comes into this match after a 1-0 loss to Israel, a match that also coincided with the Italian coach's debut on the national team bench. After that result, the red and black team's objective is to react and close this friendly series with a positive performance in front of the fans.

The statistics of previous matches show a balance in favor of Albania. This will be the eighth challenge in history between the two representatives. In the previous seven meetings, Albania has recorded four wins, one draw and two losses. The last confrontation between the two teams dates back to 2017, when Luxembourg managed to win with a score of 2-1.

For the technical staff, this match is of particular importance not only for the result, but also for assessing the state of the team. Rolando Maran will have the opportunity to test different alternatives and analyze the performance of the players on the eve of the official matches of the Nations League, which will begin in September.

In the official pre-match session, the technical staff worked with the team on physical and tactical aspects. Special focus was given to game plans and organization in both phases of the pitch.

A positive news for the team is the return of Myrto Uzun. The striker had been training separately after a virus that prevented him from training normally with the group. However, he has fully recovered and joined the rest of the squad, being available to the coach for the match against Luxembourg.

The situation of Anis Mehmeti is different. The footballer has not managed to recover from the flu that has accompanied him in recent days and for this reason will not be ready for Saturday's challenge. The medical staff has monitored his condition, but it has been decided that he should not be put at risk in this match.

Apart from this absence, the rest of the group is at the disposal of the technical staff. The players have continued their training program normally and the atmosphere in the team is considered positive on the eve of the match.

The match against Luxembourg is expected to provide important answers for coach Maran regarding the formation and alternatives that can be used in future official matches.

The Albania-Luxembourg match will be played starting at 20:00, at the "Air Albania" stadium in the capital.
