Sunderland secured promotion to the Premier League after a 2-1 victory over Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final, held at Wembley.

Despite being at a disadvantage in the first half after Tyrese Campbell's goal, Le Bris's team responded in the second half.

Eliezer Mayenda equalised in the 75th minute, while in the dying seconds of the match, Tom Watson scored the decisive goal. Sheffield United had more chances, but failed to convert them, and were punished in the end.

The victory marks Sunderland's first success in a play-off final after four previous failures. With this triumph, the club returns to the top flight of English football after a seven-year absence.

Now, the focus will be on preparations for next season in the Premier League. Sheffield United, on the other hand, ends the season with disappointment, despite their high place in the table.
