Friendly with Jordan, Albania aims for another success

The Albanian national team is going through a positive period in the World Cup qualifiers, after difficulties in the Nations League. The team led by coach Silvinjo has achieved a series of results that have restored confidence and optimism in the red and black camp.

The victory over Andorra in the second round of World Cup qualifiers was a turning point for the national team, marking the beginning of a run that so far counts six matches without defeat, with four wins and two draws.

Thanks to these results, Albania is currently ranked second in Group K, with 11 points, just four behind leaders England and four ahead of Serbia, who have a game in hand. This situation keeps the team in full competition for one of the two places that secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup, a goal that until a few months ago seemed difficult.

Under Silvinho, who took over in January 2023, the national team has shown significant improvements in organization and play. The team has gained stability in defense and greater efficiency in the offensive phase, with a goal average that has increased significantly compared to previous cycles.

Despite the improvements, the Brazilian coach seeks continuity and sees today's friendly against Jordan as an important test to assess the players' condition and to try out some alternatives for the remaining phase of the qualifiers.

On the other hand, Jordan comes into this match with a not-so-positive record in recent matches. Only two wins in seven matches have shown that the team is going through a volatile period, however, the successes achieved in the Asian qualifiers have made this national team enter history.

Jordan have secured their first ever qualification for the 2026 World Cup after a 3-0 win over Oman to finish second in Group B of the qualifiers, ahead of Syria and Kuwait. A narrow defeat to Iraq in their last match did not detract from their historic run.

The friendly match between Albania and Jordan will be played this Tuesday evening, starting at 7:00 PM, at the "Air Albania" stadium.
