Sweden sacks coach after refusing to resign

Jon Dahl Tomasson is no longer Sweden's coach. The Swedish Football Association has decided to sack the Danish coach immediately after the home defeat to Kosovo.

The defeat in Gothenburg, which left Sweden in last place in the group with just one point, was crucial to this decision.

Tomasson had refused to resign after the match, but the board acted immediately. His adventure started well, as he led Sweden to League B of the Nations League, but results in the World Cup qualifiers were disappointing.

In four matches, Sweden has managed only one draw and two losses against Kosovo. The federation has already started work on finding a new coach who will lead the team in the remaining two matches.
