The coach of the Albanian national team, Silvinjo, gave an interview to "Radio Marca" where he talked about his experience on the bench of the Reds and Blacks. The preparations for the next matches of Euro 2024, the dream of going to Germany as well as the qualities of the red and black group, were part of this interview where Silvinjo shows how much he has adapted to our country.

"It is a big challenge but it is going very well. At the end of last year, I had a dinner with the president of the federation in Milan, we talked, we talked a bit. He was looking for a coach, an important project. It is a federation that is growing a lot, they have many good players with a good level in Europe. They want to go to the European, I got to know the federation, the president and from there. They speak Italian and English, I feel good with all these people.

I preferred to work while living in Tirana, but things are going well, good, dedicated players, we are in the right place in the classification.

We start planning with the staff and the national team is a complicated matter. In June it was difficult for workloads, vacations. Now it's a little bit different, it comes from the preparatory phase with few games and we have to find the best prepared players for the two games we have on September 7 and 10.

How does the national team differ from the club? It makes a lot of difference, that's one reason I accepted. It was a nice challenge, luckily I had worked in the Brazilian national team for three years with Tite. We were at the Russian World Cup and I saw a lot of things, monitoring the players, I knew what I would have to do. Controlling players, monitoring visits, workloads. But it differs a lot from the club, as we don't have to monitor the 24-25 players we have in the squad, but 50-60 players and the amount of important players there makes it more complicated. You have to get all these players and in 3-4-5 days have them all well prepared for the match, because it is very complicated.

With every coach I have worked with, I have learned a lot, but I cannot lose my identity, I am Silvio. It is the coaches who have done it and do it well. I like football, work, stay up late watching football, then apply, I am an active person, my personality suits me very well.

I talk to almost everyone, Roberto, Tite, Wenger on the phone. But not much. I know these people and they are busy, my staff is busy too. I've known Pablo Zabaleta since we were at City and we made many friends and never lost contact, we used to meet as a family. I had this opportunity to take it and things are going well. He is a brilliant person, he has many skills. No wonder, since I knew you had baggage, it's helping me a lot.

The best group of players for the European? I was lucky at best. The pressure is not, but it is the dream of the country. However, it is a strong, difficult and very balanced group. Things are going like this, everyone is fighting, we are also in the race. It's hard, a complicated set, but I like it. I like to do the job well, the details, a lot of work. It is a dream, we want to be in Germany 2024. We know there are many things ahead, many difficult matches. I think things will be determined in the last games, in November, it will be difficult.

In the national team, there are players with a good level, in Europe, in important championships. It is the fruit of the work of many people who have been there before, 2-3 previous coaches, they are players who have 20-30 matches with the national team, who have grown up, are in important level championships. Now we will try to take this team to a European. But the players are young, important, there is a good mix. It is a sin for Kumbula of Roma that he was injured, Broja too, we have 2-3 important players injured. But there are very good and dedicated players. I am amazed with their approach, of the players, that they are giving everything. This makes me very happy.

Ndikimi italian te Shqipëria? Është një avantazh, se duke qëndruar në Milano, flas mirë italisht, është e rëndësishme edhe përshtatja me presidentin, me stafin. Unë flas mirë italisht dhe anglisht, nëse gjithë momentin ke nevojë për përkthim bëhet e vështirë. Edhe kjo të ndihmon. Unë jam person aktiv, komunikoj. Kur fillova të mendoja për trajningun? Në vitet e fundit te Barça nis atë identifikohesha me këtë rol. Nëse kishte të ri, apo që po kalonte moment të keq, e ndihmoja. Pak trajnerë brazilianë në Europë? Ka disa emra të rinj, por po ndryshon kjo.
