OFFICIAL/ Murder of the Greek fan, UEFA cancels the Champions League match

The match between AEK Athens and Dinamo Zagreb has been cancelled! The meeting that was scheduled to be played tonight, will not be played and the decision was made a few minutes ago, when the two clubs met in a meeting with UEFA.

Last night's riots in Athens and the killing of the Greek fan by the ultras of Dinamo Zagreb, have caused the leaders of AEK to withdraw from the meeting, considering it unethical to play the match in conditions where the fans seriously endanger its progress, especially after recent incidents.

Now, it only remains for UEFA to come out in an official statement and announce the postponement of the match and the new date for when the teams will take the field will be determined. For this incident, 98 fans of the teams were arrested, while 8 others were injured.
