Mbappe, the best scorer in World Cup history. Olise surpasses legend Pele

Kylian Mbappe made World Cup history in the third-place match against England, becoming the competition's all-time top scorer.

The French striker scored twice in France's 6-4 defeat and reached the 22-goal mark, surpassing Lionel Messi's 21.

Mbappe scored in the 48th minute and then in the 66th minute, bringing France back into the game after a 4-0 first-half deficit. Another record was set by Michael Olise, who reached 7 assists in this World Cup.

Despite individual performances, France failed to avoid defeat to England. Lionel Messi still has a chance to return to the top of the scoring charts in the final against Spain.

Meanwhile, Mbappe, at 27, remains in contention to further improve his record in future tournaments.
