Euro U-19 Women's Qualifiers, Albania defeated by Montenegro

The Albanian U-19 women's national team played today the first match of the second round of the European Championship in group B4 against Montenegro. At the "Elbasan Arena" stadium, the girls were defeated with a score of 2-1. The only goal for Albania was scored by the team's captain, Jessica Ndoj.

Coach Luçije Gjini started the match against Montenegro with this starting lineup: Rajmonda Spahiu (GK), Herta Hasaj, Angela Nika, Klea Alushi, Xhesika Ndoj (C), Arjela Lako, Klesta Ago, Rosela Vasa, Juarda Aliaj, Era Methoxha, Stela Vata.

Albania started the match well and won a penalty in the first minutes. Jessica Ndoj took the penalty from the penalty spot, but it was saved by the opposing goalkeeper. However, the goal came very quickly and the protagonist was again Jessica Ndoj, who scored a super goal in the 16th minute.

Albania's advantage was short-lived, as Montenegro quickly equalized with a penalty. It was Katarina ?a?enovi? who scored the winner in the 19th minute. Montenegro took the lead in the 25th minute with a goal from Tatjana Osmaji?.

During the first half, Albania came very close to scoring a second goal through Klesta Ago, but the striker's shot was stopped by the post.

The second half started with two substitutions for the red and black team. Juarda Aliaj and Klea Alushi left the game, while Adela Qose and Stiljana Guga came on.

The girls tried until the end to equalize the game, but without success. In the 79th minute, Albania was very close to scoring, as they attempted twice with Ndoj and Hasaj, but the opposing goalkeeper was impenetrable.

In the end, the match ended with Montenegro winning 2-1.

Also today, the other group match between Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan was played. At the "Home of Football", the Northern Ireland team triumphed with a comprehensive score of 4-0.

The Albania women's team will play their second match against Azerbaijan on February 21, at the "Egnatia Arena" stadium, at 2:30 p.m. The next group B4 match, between Northern Ireland and Montenegro, will be played on the same day, at the "House of Football", at 11:30 a.m.
