KOKSH does not recognize the CAS decision, AFF reacts: Deliberate destruction in

The Albanian Football Federation has reacted sharply to the decision of the Tirana Court of Appeal, regarding the Extraordinary Assembly of the Albanian Football Federation held on January 10, 2021.

CAS declared the decisions taken, which included changes to the NAC statute, the dismissal of the president, and the election of new members of the verification commission, invalid.

According to the AFF, "KOKSH, which itself requested that the case be tried outside of Albania, today no longer recognizes the CAS decision.

The NAC openly refuses to abide by international rules, setting a dangerous precedent and violating the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Arbitral Awards.

This is not just a sporting dispute. This is a pure form of institutional violence, a direct attack on international law and the principles of justice!

The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled on June 17, 2024 in favor of the Albanian Football Association, overturning the decisions taken during the Extraordinary Assembly of the Albanian Football Association held on January 10, 2021.

The CAS declared invalid the decisions taken at the Extraordinary Assembly of the NAC, which had approved the new statute. This includes changes to the NAC statute, the dismissal of the President, and the election of new members of the verification commission.

CAS found that the NAC did not properly notify the AFF of the assembly and allowed the participation and voting of persons who were not members. These actions violated the established procedures and the rights of the AFF as a member federation.

By overturning the assembly's decisions, CAS set in place the rights of the AFF to participate in and be regularly notified of the NAC assemblies, ensuring fair representation and decision-making.

In a completely senseless manner and beyond any legal logic, the NAC, which itself requested that the case be tried outside of Albania, today no longer recognizes the CAS decision.

The NAC openly refuses to abide by international rules, setting a dangerous precedent and violating the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Arbitral Awards.

This is not just a sporting dispute. This is a pure form of institutional violence, a direct attack on international law and the principles of justice!

This attitude takes us back to the dark times of communism, when Albania was an isolated island that did not recognize any international decisions. Back then, the state did not apply the laws of the world – and today, unfortunately for us, history is repeating itself.

The Albanian Football Association will not remain silent and will take all legal steps to establish justice in the country. We call on international authorities, FIFA, UEFA and the European Courts of Justice to react immediately and protect the sporting order from the deliberate destruction that is taking place in Albania.

Albanian sport cannot be held hostage to a justice system that is caught and a state that rejects international law. Albanians deserve to be part of the world, not isolated from it.
