"Kosovo is Albania"/ AEK club reacts: We will find who did it and they will be banned from entering the stadium forever

A banner reading "Kosovo is Albania", displayed by AEK Athens fans in the match against Ajax Amsterdam, was the one that attracted the most attention and quickly went around the world.

Of course, the gesture was welcomed by the Albanians, moreover, it came from a historical Greek club, with the Hellenes being part of the list of countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo, but it caused anger among the Serbs.

The AEK club has also officially reacted to the banner, condemning its display even for a few seconds and promising to investigate to find the fans who unfurled it and to leave them out of the stadium forever.

AEK's statement:
"AEK expresses its disgust and unequivocally condemns the appearance, even for a few seconds, of a banner with extreme nationalist content in our stadium. A banner which has absolutely nothing to do with the historical origin of our club, nor certainly with what it represents since its foundation.

AEK does not need to prove anything with words, as it has done it with deeds in indisputable ways and with initiatives that no other group has undertaken, against the war.

Regarding the concrete sad and infuriating event, AEK declares that it will not stand idly by. We are now launching actions to find those responsible for the display of the banner, which has rightly upset the vast majority of our sports-loving world, which has also strongly opposed it.
We will definitely find those responsible and they will be banned forever from entering our stadium," the Greek club's communique says.
