Jota and his brother are escorted to the last apartment, Ronaldo stuns everyone

Today, in the city of Gundomar, Portugal, the funeral ceremony of Diogo Jota and Andre Sliva, who lost their lives after a tragic accident in Spain, took place.

The tribute was attended by many well-known names in Portuguese and international football, including coaches Roberto Martinez and Arne Slot, as well as players such as Bernardo Silva, Ruben Neves and Van Dijk. Liverpool sent a wreath in the shape of Jota's shirt and have decided to pay the remaining two years of his contract to be near his family.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah were conspicuously absent from the ceremony. Ronaldo, as Portugal captain, was expected to be present. Foreign media reported that CR7 was seen on holiday in Mallorca this Saturday.

The ceremony was held in silence and solemnity, according to the wishes of the family. Diogo Jota, who had been married just two weeks earlier, leaves behind a wife and three children. He had played a key role in Liverpool's last season, scoring nine goals.
