Tributes for Diogo Jota, attended by high-ranking personalities

Diogo Jota and his brother, André Silva, were escorted to their final resting place during a funeral ceremony held in Portugal, attended by high-ranking state dignitaries, including the president and prime minister.

The tribute was also attended by national team teammates, well-known football figures and the player's agent. Liverpool FC organized a series of tributes at the Anfield Road stadium, including a book of condolences where messages from thousands of fans were collected.

In this atmosphere of solidarity, two Everton players, Beto and Youssef Chermiti, also joined in the tributes. Liverpool decided to postpone pre-season training, out of respect for the tragedy and trauma experienced by the team.

Diogo Jota was travelling to England when he died in a road accident. The player was due to join the squad for the start of the pre-season, scheduled for Monday.
