Raphaël Varane "hangs his shoes on the nail" at the age of 31.

The French defender announced through social networks that he has decided to retire from active football.

The winner of the World Cup with France, declared through social networks that he will no longer be an active part of the blue field, however he will continue his journey in the world of football, with Varane taking a position at the club of Como's.

Reflecting on these moments, it is with immense pride and a sense of accomplishment that I announce my retirement from the game we all love. And so, a new life begins off the field. I'll stick with Como. Just without using my shoes. Something I look forward to talking more about soon ," writes Raphaël Varane.

In his career, the Frenchman has played for important clubs, such as Real Madrid or Manchester United, as he ended his career with Como in Serie A./ CNA
