Great gesture from Germany players, they pay for the fans

Germany's national football team players have undertaken a special initiative to support their fans at the 2026 World Cup.

To ease the high financial costs in the US, the team led by captain Joshua Kimmich will pay public transport tickets for 600 German fans.

The decision comes as a direct response to the abusive price hikes between New York and New Jersey during the tournament. Train fares from Manhattan to the stadium, which usually cost around $13, were initially raised to $150 and then, following controversy, were reduced to $98.

The player assistance will be specifically implemented for the final Group E match against Ecuador, which will be played on June 25 at MetLife Stadium.

Through this gesture, the German national team shows maximum appreciation for its 12th player on the stadium steps.
