A news has shocked the football world today. FIFPRO media has reported that Iranian footballer Amir Nasr-Azadani will face a death sentence in his country.

He was arrested after standing up for the freedoms and rights of women in Iran. The full-back played for the Traktor Sazit team (between the 2016/17 and 2018/19 seasons).

This Monday, a wrestler, Majid Reza Rahnavard, was hanged after being sentenced to death in an unfair trial. He was accused of killing two members of the security forces. It is the second case of public execution.

Protests erupted in Iran, which were also seen at the World Cup, after the death of Mahsa Amini, who died after being arrested for misusing the headscarf.
