Amidst the controversy and outrage, a group of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) stepped in by collaborating with the National Animal Welfare Forum. Together they decided to file a lawsuit against the Brazilian Federation for Cat Abuse.

"Promoting change in society is part of our values. Therefore we cannot normalize situations that violate animal rights, whether in Brazil or anywhere else. We have filed a public civil lawsuit in collaboration with NGOs demanding a public apology from Brazil. They must also pay an amount of around 180,000 euros", concluded the statement.
