The January market is expected to be decisive for Elseid Hysajn, who may change teams. The departure of the Shkodran defender from Lazio seems to be a matter of weeks, since the 30-year-old is not part of the plans of the Italian club's leaders.

With a contract valid until June 2024, Hysaj's situation has remained at an impasse. This season, he has only played in three games, a clear sign that he has failed to win the trust of coach Marco Baroni's technical staff. This lack of activation has become a problem for the defender, who wants to play regularly to maintain his form and to be an important part of the Albanian National Team in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, which start in March.

Another factor that is pushing Lazio towards Hysaj's departure is his high salary. The Albanian defender earns around 3 million euros per season, an amount that contradicts the club's new financial policies, which aim to reduce costs. For this reason, Lazio seem willing to sell him in January to avoid losing him as a free agent in the summer and to benefit financially from the transfer.

Aware of the situation, Hysaj's manager, Mario Xhufredi, has intensively started work to find a new team for his client. One of the most concrete tracks is his transfer to the Saudi championship. Arab clubs have shown interest in the Albanian player and they seem to be the only ones who can cover his high salary, as well as meet Lazio's financial demands.

The move to Saudi Arabia could be a smart choice for Hysaj, as it will not only secure a financially satisfying contract, but also more minutes on the field. In a less competitive championship than Serie A, the defender will have the opportunity to show his qualities and restore the continuity he lacks.
