Former FIFA referee, Carlo Candia, has made a sensational statement recently. He declared that he saved a card against Leo Messi, in the semi-final of the Copa America, in 2007.

It is about the challenge where Argentina defeated Mexico with the result 3-0. In the event that Messi would be punished in that meeting, he would lose the final against Brazil.

Candia said that he saved the card for Messi, in exchange for the shirt at the end of the game.
