Agim Ademi's arrest/ What is he accused of and how dangerous is the head of the FFK

The head of the Football Federation in Kosovo, Agim Ademi, was arrested this Wednesday in Pristina. He will remain in custody for at least 48 hours, pending a court order.

Agim Ademi is accused of tax evasion and abuse of office, for which the justice system in Kosovo provides punishment from a fine to up to 8 years in prison.

Specifically, for tax evasion, depending on the damage caused to the state budget, the punishment is a fine and up to 8 years of imprisonment.

As for the charge of abuse of office, the law in Kosovo provides for a fine and imprisonment from 3 months to 3 years.

In a press conference, the secretary of FFK, Taulant Hodaj, said that the institution will cooperate with justice. He added that he expects the Court to say the last word about the fate of President Agim Ademi.

His arrest comes just a few days before Kosovo's match with Israel, valid for the Germany 2024 European qualifiers.
