Application for the European, Armand Duka: This is why Serbia was chosen and not Kosovo

Albania is one of the main candidates to host the final matches of the 2027 European Championship for U-21 national teams.

Since the conditions regarding the number of required stadiums are not met, the AFL will cooperate with the Serbian Football Federation to jointly host the final stage of EURO 2027 for the U-21 age group.

In this regard, the president of the AFL, Armand Duka, also spoke, who said that the first option was Kosovo, but it was unfeasible, due to the infrastructure. He also revealed the reason why Serbia was chosen. 

"Of course, the first option was Kosovo. Since Kosovo does not meet the criteria and we also do not meet them to organize it alone, then we saw the applicants who were: Albania, Serbia, Turkey and Belgium. The other two were not interested to join us. Serbia was the only candidate. We have interests because we organize a major event in Albania and our team automatically qualifies for Euro 2027," Duka told "Express".
