Ausilio reveals the behind-the-scenes: Rafael Leao, close to Inter

Inter's sporting director, Piero Ausilio, has revealed an interesting behind-the-scenes story. According to him, the star of Milan, Rafael Leao, was close to moving to Inter, before he was transferred to the red and blacks.

Ausilio also revealed that an agreement had been reached with the Lille club, which owned the Portuguese's card.

"It is true, Leao was close to Inter. Very, very close. We had an agreement with Lille, an agreement reached quite quickly at a meeting in London. Afterwards, Leao and I could not talk enough and then the talks were interrupted," said Ausilio.
