Canceled the goal thanks to a spectator's phone, the Federation immediately suspends the referee

Disallowed a goal by reviewing images of contested action on a spectator's mobile phone.

For this reason, the Egyptian Football Federation has suspended the referee and his associates. The incident happened during the Egyptian Second Division match between Suez and Al-Nasr.

In this category, VAR is not allowed. Al-Nasr scored the potential equalizer a few minutes from the end of the match.

There was uncertainty about referee Mohamed Farouk. He detected a handball while reviewing footage from a fan's cellphone and decided to disallow the goal.

Suez won the match 3-1 after 15 extra minutes.
