The National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority implements the Anthrax Control Program every year, with the aim of preventing and minimizing the spread of anthrax on livestock farms.
For the period January-December 2025, 129,507 animals (cattle, sheep, pigs and equines) were vaccinated.
Anthrax is a dangerous disease for both animals and humans. Avoiding contact with suspected animals and not opening carcasses are vital measures to protect public health.
Authorities call on farmers to implement preventive measures and cooperate with the veterinary service for timely reporting and control./CNA
