Baby formula is being recalled in several European countries due to concerns over the presence of a toxin called cereulide, produced by the bacteria Bacillus cereus, which can cause digestive illnesses such as nausea and vomiting.

Nestle has recalled hundreds of products from its infant formula lines (SMA, BEBA, NAN, etc.) in several European countries, such as Austria, France, Germany, Britain, Ireland and others, due to the risk of cereulide contamination, also reported as one of the largest product recalls in the company's history.

Danone has also recalled several types of infant formula produced in Ireland, especially well-known brands such as Aptamil or Nutrilon, for the same reasons.

Other manufacturers, including Vitagermine (Babybio), have also recalled certain types of baby formula as a precaution.

Authorities in France have launched investigations into two deaths of infants who consumed recalled infant formula, although a causal link between the consumption of the formula and the case has not yet been confirmed.
