"The cold is the enemy"/ Brataj: 7 flu subtypes are circulating this year

The Head of the National Emergency, Skënder Brataj, said today that the cold weather in the country is affecting the further spread of the flu in the population.

In a television appearance, Brataj stated that several flu subtypes are circulating this year, such as Type A, H1N1, H1N2, Type 2, RSV, Covid, and the new subtype K.

"The flu is a virus itself with its subvariants. This year we have type A, H1N1, H1N2, type 2, but also RSV and Covid. This year the flu even had a new subtype, type K, against which we are not fully protected. People often go out thinking that they have recovered, but the virus continues to act. The cold is an enemy for tissues weakened by infection and this worsens the disease", said Brataj. /CNA
