3-year-old Emmy was napping next to her best friend at a nursery in northern Thailand when a man walked in with a gun and a knife.

While all the children were at bedtime, former police officer Panya Kamrab killed the nursery staff, including a teacher who was eight months pregnant.

He then forced his way into each of the three classrooms of children and killed all of Emmy's friends. It is still unclear how she survived. When police forces entered the nursery, they found him awake, crouching next to the bodies of his friends.
