Rare surgical intervention in pediatrics/ The doctor who performed a 13-hour

Surgeon Dritan Alushani, who has successfully performed a difficult operation on a baby, has confessed to the long hours in the surgery room.

The operation lasted 13 hours.

In the show "Good Morning Albanians" on Euroneës Albania, Alushani told about the problem that was bothering the child.

He said that the child was born with abnormalities of the urinary bladder and that he was operated on immediately after birth and added that this disease requires early intervention from time to time.

"I'm talking about how the child was born. He was born with an abnormality of the urinary tract, the pathways that drain the urine produced in the kidneys. He had been operated on immediately after he was born, they had taken out a urinary channel to drain in the abdomen. It is such a disease that you practically have to intervene from time to time.

You cannot intervene before the age of 1 to form a urinary bladder, in slightly more normal cases than this was an extreme case. This one had no bladder at all or a very small, shrunken bladder, because there was an obstruction down in the urethra, below the bladder. This caused the part of the urinary deposit to be underdeveloped", he emphasized. /CNA.al
