Official visit or escape?/ Veliaj leaves the country

The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, fled Albania this Saturday morning.

CNA learns that Veliaj paid his way through the "VIP" area of ??Tirana airport at 05:15 in the morning.

The departure comes a few days later as SPAK has several files under investigation, that of the incinerators, the "5D" file, the "5 Maji" collapses, the "Theatre" file and the property investigation.

The reason for his departure abroad is not yet known, whether he fled to escape justice or for an official visit.

Veliaj was called to testify at the Special Prosecutor's Office, where the first time he stayed for 7 hours and the second time for 5 hours.

As it seems, the mayor is feeling the danger despite trying to find the fault elsewhere to clear his face, which is already impossible. /CNA
