"The process for the diaspora vote continues"/ Celibashi: There are

The State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, made a statement to the media this Thursday. Celibashi answered several questions of interest regarding the May 11 elections.

Regarding the process of sending ballots to Albanians in the diaspora, Celibashi said that the chosen service is one of the best in the world for this purpose.

"We are pushing, depending on how the contract allows us, for the company to do this process properly. It is one of the best services in the world for postal purposes," said Celibashi.

Regarding possible errors in the work on the diaspora vote, Celibashi said that this is an acceptable problem.

"We can and cannot mitigate it as an acceptable problem for all parties. Even one of the employees can make a mistake," said Celibashi.

The Commissioner also shared data from the diaspora voting process and assured that the ballot administration process is continuing.

"So far, 154,770 voters have received their envelopes, meaning 62% of registered voters have received their electoral documentation, namely their ballots. They have arrived at the CEC so far and 19,025 have been processed as of this writing, while by the end of the day, around 22,000 ballots will have been returned, meaning 12.5% ??of the ballots that have been submitted. The process of administering these ballots continues," Celibashi said. /CNA
